Ginger Head Gearheart

Ginger Head Gearheart is the Founder and former Executive Director of Imagination Celebration of Fort Worth Inc.( ICFW). Ginger had the vision to take ICFW to The John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Art to answer a call for a national festival focused on arts in education and turn it into a 24 year old organization that, from its inception, created a myriad of year-round arts and cultural programs connected to education for the youth of Fort Worth both in the classroom and in cultural venues throughout the city.

Since 1986, under her leadership, ICFW, an Independent Non Profit Organization, provided over 7 million individual arts and cultural experiences to over 4 million students in North Texas, pioneered an innovative annual Statewide Program for Deaf Students, created in depth programs for aspiring visual artists and dancers, and has been recognized as a creator of innovative cultural programming across the United States and abroad.

ICFW has been hailed as a national model for community arts and education collaborations by the US Department of Education, the Texas Commission for the Arts, Americans for the Arts, The Arts Education Partnership, the Association of School Administrators, the White House Millennium Council, The President's Committee for the Arts and Humanities, and the J. F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

ICFW Inc. has worked internationally with arts organizations from many countries. Beginning in the spring of 2001, Ginger worked with leaders from Monterrey, Mexico to create Talentum, an arts and education organization modeled after ICFW in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Talentum remains a viable entity partnering cultural institutions and schools in Monterrey, and has often partnered with Imagination Celebration, sharing visiting artists and coordinating artistic opportunities for young performers in the neighboring countries. Imagination Celebration Fort Worth was awarded two Chairman's Extraordinary Action Grants for the initiation of this work with Mexico, from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Over the past 6 years under the leadership of Ms. Head Gearheart, ICFW has been working with Milbry Polk, founder of Wings Worldquest based in New York, in the creation and presentation of The Art of Exploration a unique program series connecting some of the world's greatest living explorers in the fields of earth, air and space, oceans, and humanities with arts and cultural experiences in presentations for students. This program series has reached 32,000 students. In this past year under her leadership, ICFW partnered with the leadership of Grand Canyon National Park to create a new model program to bring the National Parks to life in a city away from any park. The program combined the Arts, Sciences, and Humanities in multi disciplinary programming for students, teachers, and families and reached over 8000 students as well as a large audience from the general public.

In October of 2011 Ginger Head Gearheart retired from her leadership at Imagination Celebration Fort Worth. She is now working as a consultant in the development of Arts and Education Partnerships in other cities in the US and abroad.

Ginger is currently an Independent Consultant and Advisory Team Member for AETV.Org and ArtsEducationPartners.Com.
