My name is Jacqueline Vargas; I’m a Designer & Developer. I have been pursuing my love of graphic design and web development for 15 years. I started out by learning HTML at age 13. I took on my first internship at age 15 and began to work on freelance projects on the side. In college, I interned a few more times, and worked as a Graphic & Web Designer at Benson Design. In December 2007, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in Computer Graphic Arts.
In July of 2008, I started working full-time, at UPPERCASE Design Group, as Lead Web Developer and Graphic Designer. In August of 2011, I became a Software Developer and Integrator II at USAA, where I work on front-end development and user interface design.
I have designed logos, business systems, mobile app icons, icon illustrations, posters, advertisements, newsletters, and trade show graphics, amongst other design projects. I enjoy defining brand guidelines, and I also like the challenge of designing unique projects that are within established design guidelines. I love every step of the process, from brainstorming and sketching to preparing files for print.
My other hobbies include 3D modeling & animation, baking, crafting, gardening, painting, photography, sewing, and video editing. I married my college sweetheart, we have two daughters and three cats.
